PERSPECTIVE vs SUBJECTIVE…
Today, the world can be a confusing place and
BIG topics are up for debate including (but certainly not limited to):
Discrimination
Racism
Freedom
Human Rights
…WAR
But, whose perspective is correct? 🤨
Typically we all believe that our own lens is the correct one…however, is our perspective, subjective?
Does our own perspective limit us on what we can achieve?
…I guess it depends on who you ask.
Perspectives vary. Some will agree with yours, and some will not.
Personally, I try to remain neutral and stay out of the fight. I try to look for the middle ground and form an unbiased opinion.
When I was a young, unattached and childless journalism wannabe THIS was much easier.
Today, it is exhausting. 🎡🤡🎢
Today, I am responsible for more than me.
It is all almost TOO MUCH.
This week, I found solace in an unexpected voice…the words of Matthew McConaughey. 💡
His book Greenlights has been on my audio play list for quite some time, and this week, the messaging behind it really stuck.
…and I related to his, perspective. 🚦
He really didn’t say anything earth-shattering, or mind-blowing, or fantastically-unique…although, he did tell many highly-relatable entertaining stories of how he got from 0 to 50. He emphasized the values and connections, and “green lights” that led him to a live a life of intention.
It was like having a FUN and down-to-earth REAL chat with that friend that gets you AND, just the mental health ooomph I needed to round out a week of obstacles and uncertainty. 🤪☀️👍
“Sometimes we don’t need to hear advice. Sometimes we just need to hear that we are not the only one.”
I agree Matthew. 💯
SO…my takeaway…be like Matthew, forget being subjective and open your perspective.
GO for your green lights. 💚💚💚🚦…and maybe even, pick up his book.
We can ALL get to a better place, together. We are ALL in this together.
Alright, alright…alright.
♥️💙💜🖤💛💚🧡🎉
IT is life
IT changes…and that’s OK
IT is all OK
